Meat the Truth received with enthousiasm in Swedish parliament

This morning, Meat the Truth was screened in the the Swedish national parliament amid great interest. Chair of the Party for the Animals Marianne Thieme and NGPF director Karen Soeters were invited to present the film and to talk to Swedish members of parliament. All members of parliament were presented with the book “Meat the Truth, Essays on Livestock Production, Sustainability and Climate Change” and the DVD of the film. Member of parliament Jens Holm of the Vänsterpartieft (Left Party) led the discussion and called Meat the Truth a “pioneers film”, as it is the first film in the world to address the impact of livestock production on climate change. “Meat the Truth is a very important film and I hope that Swedish politicians will realise that more political measures are necessary to reduce meat consumption. The current high meat consumption in Sweden and other rich countries is not sustainable and needs to be decreased.”
