#Powerplant selected for The Hague Global Cinema Festival

Our documentary #Powerplant has been geselecteerd for the next edition of The Hague Global Cinema Festival. The film festival takes place November 13 – 15 at Filmhuis Den Haag.

Live screenings of the annual festival take place as planned, but due to corona measures with a smaller audience. There will also be an online screening of the program.

#Powerplant selected for Kraków Green Film Festival

The NGPF documentary #Powerplant has been selected for the third edition of the Kraków Green Film Festival (KGFF) in Poland, an international film festival with ecological films, workshops and lectures.

KGFF takes place from August 16-23 in the Polish city of Kraków. Because of the outbreak of the coronavisur, the organization is working on an alternative. If it is not possible for the festival to take place in the original way, the selected films will be streamed online.

#Powerpant “Best Feature Film” at Tulum World Environment Film Festival

#Powerplant won two awards at Tulum World Environment Film Festival in Mexico. This festival focuses on films with themes of nature and environmemt and aims to create awareness and discuss the state of our environment.

#Powerplant won the awards “Best Feature Film” and “Best Orginal Music”. All music in #Powerplant is composed and performed by Moby, who is also makes an appearance in the film.

#Powerplant provides added insight into the link between climate change and meat consumption, a topic that Marianne Thieme was the first politician to address in the climate documentary ‘Meat the Truth’ in 2007, an issue that has become even more pertinent since then. Moby:

Vegans have found a way to transition from a small activist group to a mainstream movement. It is the new normal.

The Tulum World Environment Film Festival takes place twice a year: the SOL-edition in July and the LUNA-edition in November. #Powerplant will be screened during the SOL-edition, which takes place from 15-21 July 2019, in Casa de la Cultura Tulum, in the beautiful Mexican coastal town of Tulum, near Paya del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

#Powerplant selected for American Conservation Film Festival

#Powerplant has been selected for the 17th edition of the annual American Conservation Film Festival (ACFF) in Shepherdstown, West Virginia (USA). The festival takes place during two consecutive weekends: 4-6 October and 11-13 October 2019.

#Powerpant is one of only 40 films selected from hundreds of submissions from 44 countries worldwide. The festival focuses on the preservation of nature, climate and especially the link between humans and nature, wildlife and the environment.

#Powerplant selected for Zensa Media International Film Festival

#Powerplant has been selected for the Zensa Media International Film Festival in Montréal, Canada. During this festival only short films are screened. But because the selection committee was so impressed with #Powerplant, the decided to show a teaser of the film. During the next edition the full film will be screened.

Zensa Media International Film Festival takes place on June 26th in Montréal.

Meat the Truth translated into Romanian

Meat the Truth translated into Romanian

Meat the Truth, the first climate film of The Netherlands, has been translated into Romanian. The film can now we watched on YouTube with Romanian subtitles.

The Romanian translation was made by the organization Vegan in Romania, which organized a very successful screening in Romania last weekend.

Sea the Truth wins three awards in Bogotá

The documentary Sea the Truth is the big winner at the Festival Cine Animal Bogotá in Colombia. The film won no less than three awards: “Best Documentary Feature”, “Peacock Feather” (Most original and creative work) and “Animal Planet” (Message of environmental awareness & animal).

Meat the Truth received with enthousiasm in Swedish parliament

This morning, Meat the Truth was screened in the the Swedish national parliament amid great interest. Chair of the Party for the Animals Marianne Thieme and NGPF director Karen Soeters were invited to present the film and to talk to Swedish members of parliament. All members of parliament were presented with the book “Meat the Truth”.
